Devil with the black dress on

CAUTION! CONTAINS PERSONAL POLITICAL OPINIONS!
(Some material may not be suitable for all viewers: Viewer Descretion Advised)

Seeing as this is my "blog", I have decided to "blog" about something that I actually care about and display some interest - if you do not like it, you can deal with it! It's my blog, not your blog, if you do not love my blog (but I know you will) you can write your own bloody-damn blog!

That being said, and Canadian politics in an uproar right now, I shall share my opinions regarding that; when I get "bored" of Canadian politics, perhaps I will share my opinions regarding that evil-bastard Bush and his "war on terrorism"... we shall see, time-permitting, that is what I will "blog" about... you're excited aren't you? Oh, come on, I know you are. Haha... Given the event that "time does not permit" I shall blog another day; after all, I do have a life outside of the realm of the internet - I know, I know, heaven-forbid...

Well, today Harper, the leader of the Conservative Party announced that he is "promising to reduce the goods and services tax [GST]"; sure, a tax cut would be rather benefical to people across the country; but is that all that he has to offer his "beloved" voters/supporters? I'm sorry, but announcing a tax cut might be attractive, but that's not enough. It takes a bit more than that to win an election. The Conservatives have already lost an abundance of votes with the gay/lesbian community - believe me, there's more than a dozen "queers" in the country, so if you're going to promote the party's belief that same-sex marriage is inappropriate, then obviously, you're going to lose support from that community, and not just that community, but others that support the idea of equality in our country - if that does not make sense, refer to my last "blog" in which I meantioned something about Harper trying to appeal only to the homophobic-bible-thumping population of Canada... that basically sums it up.

After that lovely news segment, there was one announced about a "heckler" disrupting Martin's speech (at a Liberal event) yelling "Martin lies, he should die" or something to that effect http://www.canada.com/globaltv/national/story.html?id=eab83e23-948f-49a9-b91c-dc853b375982

I'm sorry? They were at a Liberalist conference... if you dispise the party THAT much, do your yelling and screaming some where else - something tells me that if you go into a room full of supporters for a given cause/event, then chances are you're not going to be too popular... I wouldn't go to a Conservative or Bloc event yelling how horrible Harper is and that he should die... while some may believe Martin's lied, telling him to die is a bit harsh - he's human, if people told the truth every bloody-waking moment of the day, some people wouldn't be too impressed. .. I'm sure that that woman wouldn't like me telling her how horrible that magenta and lime-green polka-dotted dress she's wearing needs to self-destruct, or telling someone how you really feel when they come up to you on the street and ask "how are you?" If we expected the truth every waking moment, then we wouldn't mind listening to someone ramble on about how crappy their day was - what I'm trying to say is, every one lies... sometimes it's a measure that we take not to create civil-unrest while walking down the street.

I'm still thinking that this election is rather pointless - aside from the gomery report, and the opposition parties "not liking" the liberals, I can't come up with a decent reason... my gut instinct says that the liberals will remain in power, conservatives will want to hide under a rock, ndp will gain a few more seats in parliment, and life as we know it will resume to normal in 8 weeks...

Nevertheless, I'm rather excited about getting to vote (finally) in a federal election... instead of just talking politics with friends/family and not really being able to do anything about it, I'll be able to check that tiny-little box... oooo the excitement of it all... haha... am I demented and ill that I'm taking so much pleasure out of this election talk? Probably... but at least I haven't downloaded a "podcast" onto my iPod yet... (that's what tomorrow is for)...

Oyi... well, i've typed and typed away, I'm rather tired of typing - thus, I will not offer my opinions on Iraq... today... TODAY being the keyword...
